The Bedford Gallery Hits a Home Run with New Exhibit

Baseball fans young and old will love the new exhibit at the Bedford Gallery.

Peanuts, Cracker Jacks and the Bedford Gallery's Safe at Home, it doesn't get anymore all-American than this!

When you arrive you are greeted by a display wall of peanuts, with golden ones on top.

Then you move inside the exhibit and find yourself humming "take me our to the ball game.

The show features every type of art, from paintings, to photographs, sculptures and even a ring from the 1936 World Series worn by Joe DiMaggio.

As guests started entering the exhibit there was a soft hum in the gallery, and smiles were everywhere.

It was an experience getting to watch older fans tell stores to young baseball fans, as they shared game stories and statistics.

Wander through time as you see old photos of ball players, including members of the Women's Baseball League. My son was amazed when he saw these re-prints of old photos, he had never seen girls in professional baseball.

Admire jerseys, bats caps and even a giant Giant's World Series ring.

The opening reception offered free peanuts, crackerjacks and even hot dogs.

My son's favorite part was the pulverized baseballs, his face says it all.

The perfect way to welcome Spring, go in,take a walk, and find yourself wandering through this exhibit of fun and sport in awe. Take your kids and show them how this game has always been and will always be, America's favorite past time.
