The New Pete's Dragon
Lovers of the Original Disney Film Pete's Dragon, are in for an entirely new story with this 2016 remake.
The trailer begins very serious as Robert Redford and Bryce Dallas Howard talk about a little boy who was found in the woods after being alone for 6 years. It doesn't look like there will be any singing in this version.
This dirty and care free boy is of course Pete, running wild in the forest.
And living in what looks like a nest.
Watching this small boy as he seems to be alone in the giant wilderness reminds us of course, of The Jungle Book.
We don't get to see Elliot except for quickly right at the end of the trailer.
We only see expressions of Pete and others and some trees and things moving.
At the end we are taken by happy surprise as Pete jumps off a cliff and Elliot swoops in to save him.
Disney released an image with Entertainment weekly of Elliot, and in this film he looks nothing like the one we grew up with.
He's not so much a scaly reptile dragon, he is more of a fury lion-bird.
The movie comes out August 12, 2016 and as a fan or the original I am hopeful for this new adaptation!
