Grand Opening Celebration at ToysRus in Concord
There was a little rain today in Concord, CA but that didn't stop the Grand Opening party at ToysRus!
The ribbon cutting ceremony was at 9am officially opening this amazingly designed, brand new ToysRus location.
The special guest ribbon cutter was Matthew Ouimet, who was given the honor from ToysRus and Make a Wish.
Once the ribbon was cut the fun began.
Greeting everyone when they walked in were Star Wars characters, Geoffrey the Giraffe and the entire staff.
Lead in by Matthew there was cheering, high-fives and even hugs.
When the store opened visitors got a goody bag with fun surprises, like a Geoffrey doll.
ToysRus had all kinds of yummy treats too, there were food trucks, cotton candy, popcorn and all of it was totally free!
There were DJ's that had all the kids dancing, and some of the adults too. (Ok so maybe I did the cha cha slide...and the YMCA...and maybe danced to 'Shake it Off' by Taylor Swift)
Then even more characters arrived like Wonder Woman, Batman, Spider-man and Captain America.
And other great characters like Moana and Princess Leia.
Princess Leia fit right in with the group of Storm Troopers and Darth Vader that were already at the store taking pictures with visitors.
And the crew from the 501st Legion had some fun of their own shopping and playing games.
Even the Concord Police stopped by to check out the store hand out badges to the kids.
They made a friend in the Lego section, and busted a Stormtrooper for trying to recruit kids to the dark side.
There were smiles all around the store as kids and adults experienced the interactive displays and toys.
Did I mention there was also free face-painting and balloon art?
And there was a raffle with some hot toys and very happy winners.
The staff was on their toes helping everyone that needed it, I even got asked several times if I needed help when I wasn't taking pictures, they were just as excited to be there as everyone else.
The Grand Opening Celebration was a success, and with the holiday season approaching there is no better place to shop than the new Concord ToysRus. Where you can get your shopping done while having some fun yourself!
