Museum of Ice Cream San Francisco

Hungry for something to do with the kids over holiday breaks? Take them to the Museum of Ice Cream!

This kid friendly museum lets you explore Willy Wonka like rooms, play games, swing, eat candy, swim in a pool of sprinkles and of course, eat ice cream.

I am not a huge fan of girly things, or the color pink, but I was able to get over it and have a blast.

But if you are a huge fan of pastel colors and perfectly Instagrammable pictures, the museum is the place to go.

Some of the rooms have guides with funny ice cream themed names that get the kids involved.

There was a whip cream ring toss with Pop Rocks.

A vintage diner with pink ice cream and music.

We had a lot of fun in the room filled with magnetic letters.

You could make or spell anything you wanted. (Be good though or you will get in trouble its for kids guys!)

I added a special announcement to the wall.

Then there was the Sprinkle pool.

Though they are not real sprinkles, only plastic, it was no less a blast to throw, kick and 'splash' around in them.

You will be finding these all in your clothes later. And your Car. And Your house.

The Gummy Bear forest was a scene right out of Willy Wonka.

He was super excited until he found out they were plastic.

Next on the tour was the cherry room.

Where there was freshly made cherry flavored cotton candy.

And giant cherries.

Then my favorite, the giant animal cracker carousels.

I chose the adorable elephant.

Which started with a good jolt and scared me.

Then we had the unicorn gelato room.

Where you chose your flavor and then your unicorn.

The room also had this mini bonus room of mirror tiles.

Which was trippy if you could fit inside it.

Lastly there was a mint jungle with mochi.

Which was a welcome break from the pink that had been attacking my eyes all day.

At the end of the tour there is a gift shop that has lots of souvenirs.

There are shirts, snacks, mugs you name it.

Even life rafts and giant cherries.

The huge selection of pins is what got my money.

And certainly you will want to take home some ice cream!

So book your tickets now to guarantee your spot this holiday season for an event your kids won't forget. Until they crash from the sugar high anyway!
